I wonder if someone could do the arithmetic and tell me if the billions wasted on backing US expiditions in Afghanistan and Iraq (and bailing out banks and the square mile fat cats) could have been better invested in PV cells and ground source heat pumps, where applicable, for every home in our country? At once ameliorating the financial burden on our population and decreasing our dependence on Saudi oil. I read that Brown has gone cap in hand to the house of Saud to ask for an injection of cash. Saudi (Wahabbi promoters) Princes apparently were keen to oblige but there are strings attached and, according to Melanie Philips, the Saudis now own us....only a slight exaggeration.
I realized a long time ago that the loyalty which the British state and its rich backers expect from ordinary citizens is never reciprocated. Loyalty to Britain it seems is one way traffic from the great unwashed to the billionaires and millionaires. We, apparently, are here merely to serve them and accept undercutting immigrant labour, relocated jobs overseas and the islamisation of our country without complaint.
